Samsung SGH-X495 Cellphones Review

The Samsung SGH X 495 is a typical Samsung handset. One can easily make out from the styling and design of the handset that this is a typical Samsungite. The dual color displays, standard clamshell design and the trim and proper keypad. While most people hate the standardisation since they like something new and "cool" in their handsets, the truth remains that Samsung is one of the most popular handset makers because their phones are easy to use and handle. The standardisation is precisely the reason for this. While the User interface of Nokia is much better; Samsung is also easy enough. What remains the winningpoint is that Samsung includes nearly all the features that one is looking for in a handset at an affordable rate.

The Samsung SGH-X495 comes with a variant , the X497. It is easy to distinguish between the two despite sharing most features since the X495 comes with an internal antenna whereas the X497 has an external stub. Again the two handsets differ in the type of displays that they offer. The former has a TFT while the latter comes with a TFD. The tri-band GSM handsets have a Lithium-Ion 1000 mAh battery; more than enough for the normal user. The clamshell handset enjoys an internal color display of 65,536 colors while the external one is monochrome and quite small at 96 x 64 pixels. The user has the freedom of browsing the internet through WAP thanks to the built-in Openwave browser. Connectivity suffers since there is no mention of Bluetooth or USB. Highe speed data trasnfers will be effective through GPRS. But overall the X495 is pretty basic non camera handset.
